Tips for a beginner looking to buy a hand gun for the home?
I am the owner of about 20 plus guns..all high powered rifles and shotguns..They are all used for hunting and are hardly maneuverable in my tight space apartment. I need a hand gun for home protection use only. My hunting guns are not only heavy, but don't fit the tight space of my apartment. I was looking at revolvers since less moving parts not only means more reliable, but also it would last me a while. I have a very tight budget..very tight...under $350...I found a used Ruger SP101 357 mag for $385 out the door...and a 1970's Smith and Wesson 357 for $280....I found these at a used gun store but was told that I could go to a pawn shop..or pawn brokers ( don't know the difference) and find a good deal if I knew what I was looking for..any suggestions..I know this is a tight budget...any ideas
Yes, buy that Ruger SP101. It will serve you nicely, and hold up well. The 3'' barrel is preferable to 2.25'' if you are not going to use it for concealed carry.
