Estimated cost of these materials?
My friends and I are building a "scale model" of a trebuchet for a history project... it still is going to be quite large however... and I have no idea how much it is all going to cost! I need a ballpark estimate (within $10 or so) of how much we have to spend!
So far as we know... we need:
6 x 12s...48 ft
6 inch screws....38
3 inch screw eyes....3
Screw hook....1
4ft x 1/8 ft threaded rod....1
1.5 ft x 1/8ft threaded rod....1
1/8 ft hex knuts....6
12 ft of rope (don't know what size)
and finally a 1 x 2 ft of cloth, leather, or denim
I understand that this isn't going to be a cheap project... so I'm prepared for a pretty big number so don't concern yourself with THAT detail!
Also, if you have ANY other suggestions for materials etc. let us know!

You might try asking the project desk at your local hardware store for an estimate.
Lumber and hardware prices vary widely from location to location
and from season to season and sometimes from day to day.
Students might get a better price if they present a letter
on school letterhead from their professor/teacher.
A shoe repair shop might source leather of the right weight for you.
