How do you repair sagging celing joint tape?
We have a small bathroom with a tub and a shower and no fan. The tape that joins the drywall on the ceiling has begun to sag. Do I have to replace the entire strip of tape and retape, re-paint or is there someway to reglue it and smooth it out?
YES,this is the way. take a small brush and try to get some primer under the tape that is coming loose,once that dries very carefully put some j compound under the tape as much as you can sneak under,you may need to encourage the tape to release to get more compound underneath prior to priming,and Finlay after compound is slipped under tape give it one minute to absorb into paper and then-carefully start squishing it out by putting pressure and squishing it out of the seem until no more comes out let dry .NOW YOUR TAPE IS SEATED AGAIN,AND 1more skim on top.
