I'm fairly certain I've got the concepts down. But I'm also a single female new to DIY. Can someone tell me if I need to do anything else?
Cut off the water, run it until the taps go dry. Disconnect the faucet. Take out the old sink. Scrub down the counter, lay in a nice bead of caulk at the lip, and set in the new sink. Place the new fixtures in place, and line the new connectors with teflon tape and connect them.
I've done this literally dozens of times. There are a couple of things that will make installation easier. First Install new fixtures in the new sink prior to dropping in to counter. This would include the drains, or drain and garbage disposal connection as well as the new faucet and new water supply lines. Second, apply the caulk to the underside of the sink rather than the counter. Put a generous amount. Excess will squeeze out and can be removed with finger and a moist cloth or sponge to remove the excess from your finger. If your sink is a heavy porcelain sink it will have no clamps. Let it sit overnight before making any connections underneath so as not to disturb caulk. If it uses clamps use 10 total. Three front and back and two for each side. Tighten snugly but do not over tighten. Connections can be made right away with this type.
