the tire on my riding lawnmower is flat and off the rim. a guy told me to pull out the pin in the hose...?
let out all the air, spray around the sides, put the pin back in then fill with air. But... i can't pull the stupid pin out of the hose. I got some needle nose pliers, pulling and turning the stupid thing but it won't come out. What am i doing wrong? Please help.
you need to have a valve stem tool to unscrew the pin in the valve(hose). you put it over the pin, an unscrew turning to the left<
now if its off the rim it can be tough to seat the tire bead again. mechanics have cheetas which is a tank of compressed air with a dumpvalve that aims all the air between the rim an the tire to expand it an seat it on the tire bead.
ok i know this is crazy but i have done this many times, although its kinda tricky, and alittle dangerous, it can get you back to par.
now dont have any kids around when doing this!
but you can use some hair spray and spray it into the tire off the rim, get the tire close to seating on one side, then being very cautious lite it with a match, an boom the tire goes onto the rim seats the bead in one shot, just like the cheeta air tank, kinda tricky but i would only use if in dire need.
this works for me on my 4x4 tires as well out in the middle of nowheres. good luck
