shoplifting a pole cutter under $20 on the job?
before i type this yea i know im an idiot for doing it.ok so i was in the middle of a job i do satellite and i needed a pole cutter so i went up to the do it best and realized i was $6 short the total was $18 for the item so i pocketed the pole cutter and brushed it off thinking i would bring it back to the store and say im sorry..a month later im at a speedway and a state trooper and a local cop from the town i stole from come and pull up behind me go through there whole deal, he asked me if he knows why hes there i tell him yea its in my bag i go to my van and give him the pole cutter, he said that was wise because they got me on camera after that he then has me fill out a paper saying im sorry why i did it etc.im just wondering what criminal charges im looking at jail time etc. i have never been caught stealing.im in indiana btw

The real problem for you is that your opportunities for work and career are vastly diminished. Immediately, you are forbidden from holding licenses as an insurance agent, real estate agent or any other type of license that places you in the public's trust. Also, every employer will know of your criminal record -- you'll be lucky to get a job.
