Pex Plumbing Help Needed.?
I just purchased a home that has a crawl space and it is evident that the home has had issues with frozen water line before. I decided that I want to bring the plumbing into the house instead of having it run under.
I decided on pex for its simplicity, but I'm trying to find information on other issues that I want to address when I do this project.
1. Do I need a manifold or can I run the lines straight out to feed everything?
2. Circulation Pump?......The 2nd floor bathroom is on the opposite side of the house and the furthest run, and I also want to use a tankless HWT and I want the hot water to reach the upstairs asap and not waste water running it wainting.
If someone knows of a website, I'd appreciate it.....I'm unable to find anything that informative.
Pex can be run just as any other plumbing, no manifolding is necessary
For the circulation pump... that would not be necessary since you are going to use a tankless heater there would be no reason to circulate the water as it would be cold until there is a demand for hot water.
You could install a very small hot water heater in the attic just above the 2nd bath, and insulate it very well to protect it from freezing.
Or you could install a point of use hot water heater.
