Has anyone bought Mitsubishi home theater just to learn it's JUNK?
My wife and I bought one in 2005 And it has to be repaired about every two months. The Bulbs burn out very fast and it takes a week or more to get a service man to come out. Then another two weeks to get the parts shipped to us. Then another week to get the sevice man back out again.
And I was just wondering if there was enough of us to get a class action suit against them. We bought it from Best Buy. And we will never buy anything from them again.
Normally the TV is on 24/7. I bought the most expensive surge protector I could find.
You haven't said how many hours per day the TV is playing.
Assuming 8hrs.,the bulb should last at least TWO YEARS or longer at normal brightness and contrast settings.
Have you contacted Mitsubishi in writing yet? They have an excellent Customer Service reputation so I'm surprised at the amount of trouble you are having.
By the way, the projection bulb can in most instances be replaced by you with only a screwdriver. Buy a spare so you don't have to wait next time it needs replacement. If you haven't already done so, buy a good ($30-40) SURGE PROTECTOR and plug ALL components attached to your TV to it.

Since you have provided the "ON" time as 24/7, your new bulb life is now 8 Months!
How can you possibly watch TV 24 Hrs. per day? If this is a Commercial application, then YOU have chosen the wrong device for the application.
