Do I use teflon tape on the fittings on torches?
I got an oxy-acetylene cutting torch the other day. It has never been used or put together but there are no instructions. Do I use teflon tape for the fittings on the hoses or regulators. I know not to use teflon tape on the torch head itself -it has o-rings.
Teflon tape or pipe dope are NEVER used on cutting torches, The fittings are precision machined and will seal very well if the fittings are properly torqued and clean!!!
