i have a 140amp wolf mig welder but when running on gas mode all it does is form blobs. i am using co2 as a sheilding gas and have tried pretty much all the settings (i have changed the gas flow rate, amps and the wire speed) and nothing helps all it does is form bigger blobs
i am welding 1mm mild steel and have cleaned the metal before trying to weld
any suggestions
What size and type of wire are you running? (type solid or flux?) There could be many things going wrong. Travel speed comes to mind first. But without knowing your skill level and condition of your machine, gun, liner, and so on it is hard to give an assessment of your situation. First thing I would do is get some good gas like a 75/25 mix (75% argon / 25% co2).
