Kari punched the box above her. The yellow metal thing then started spinning and turning in midair. It finally stopped on the number four, and Kari moved four spaces forward onto a blue pad. She sighed with relief that she hadn’t landed on a red pad, for that would have meant she lost ten points. Instead, she gained 5 points.
She looked around her quickly while her friend Lucy took her turn and punched the box. The space-themed island they were on was lined with paths full of blue, red and green pads, more blue than red or green – Kari was extremely thankful for this – all lined up in neat lines with even spaces between them.
There was also a large ‘space station’ in the centre of the island, with a shiny, grey polished surface. The atmosphere itself was pitch black, but there was plenty of light....
