Are Intel Quad Cores 64bit?
Im asking because i am looking to upgrade to windows 7. but someone on a diff question i asked, said that if i have a 32 bit cpu i can only upgrade to 32bith windows 7. one of my friends told me that if i have a quad core, that it should be 64 bit chip. i really want to install 64bit windows 7. additionally i looked at my cpu and it says x86 based PC

i really want 64 bit windows 7 so i can max out my gb on my mobo which is max of 8gb. i only have 3gb total on vista 32 bit

Yes, all quad cores are 64 bit ready, and most dual cores are also for that matter.
