can you please tell me what you understand by this poem?
love birds
late at night as i sat on the floor
a gentle knocking on my bedroom door
confused and astonished, i stood up to see
the one who was knocking, who could it be?
before i opened, i needed some time
a moment of silence, to recall the crime
i looked back and was astonished at the sight
how could a man so happy and bright
end up in his bed so filthy and white?
lying silently a blade to his right
with a note in his left hand held so tight
that he had written in the darkness of the night
on that paper, that has been drenched by his blood
you could see that it was written undearneath a flood
with eyes full of tears he wrote his last words
"the only thing i'll miss is the singing of the birds"
an aweful sight so full of dread
but i'm not mistaken, i must be dead
and as i turn to face the door
i knew deep down to my core
the one who's knocking on my door
is the one i cried for
OMG, i'm almost crying and that isn't easy to do, especially with a poem
it's so powerful, the emotion, your words were chosen carefully obviously
it's perfection, it's the stuff we can hope to live are whole lives to experience put to words, and words to describe this escape me so all i'll say is bravo! i could never write something with this much meaning
but as for understanding, you put it out there plainly, a girl hurt you, you decided the pain was too much, and slit your wrists, only to discover that she had come to see you right after the act ='( amazingly well put though, not as blunt as i just made it seem
