What has happened to music?
Before i ask this question,i want to point out i DO realize there are still a lot of great bands and artists out there, this is merely about the more famous bands ive grown up with since the late 80s.
So it seems like new albums by artists who were influencial, widely liked and were extremely creative in the past, now have a bland, synthetic and, lets face it, boring sound and attitude. Look at tool and deftones for an alternative/metal genre, the music for these bands was creative, ground breaking and fun to listen to, now there albums seem watered down and lacking personality.
Look at rap, which has taken the BIGGEST turn for the worst for me, it used to be about overcoming real issues, trashing the establishment and procurring your own freedoms and it had a dark, all-to-real dramatic side. Now? its all about how many diamonds your watch has and how nice your car is and how much time you spend at the club.
WHAT THE **** HAPPENED?!
Great music's still out there. It's just not mainstream.
