I live in Tx. Can I report a gas station if their pumps don't cut off automatically when tank is full? If so, where or who? I have tried different pumps at the same station, but each time I get splashed and gas puddles on the ground. This can't be safe! Thanks for any info.
I have had this car for 10 years without this problem. I guess I will use another station.
It many have to do with the way your gas tank is vented. The gas goes in so fast it traps air in the tank and builds up pressure . Then when the take burps itself you get some gas forced out . Just try filling you tank slower with a pause every 30 to 45 seconds to let the air escape. Now you can call the # on the state inspection sticker and report it..however if there not more people that complain they you most likely will not even be checked .. you know it going to happen.. just be careful when filling you car. That is about all you can do that will make it safer for you.
