Industrial spot welder?
I manufacture things from 20-22g galv. steel sheeting. I have been using a spot welder with 6" tongs. I need something like that to access both sides of the product for the weld.
The specs of my current welder are: 115V Rated 1.5KVA @ 50% Duty cycle from Chicago Electric.
It is a junk box. I have to return it every few weeks to get a replacement.
I don't know what those ratings and such mean but any explanation would be helpful.
My real question is, What type of welder should I get that will last and where should I get it?

If you pay $150 for a welder you should expect to get what you pay for.
I'd advise you to use self-drilling sheet metal screws. they're simple, cheap, easy to use, and produce a very strong connection.

Resistance spot welding is kind of a waste of time with galvanized sheets due to the zinc coating. You won't get very good welds, even if you bought a quality resistance welder.
