where can i find Red Devil Lye or sodium hydroxide?
I want to make some homemade soap and I need some lye (sodium Hydroxide)

Red Devil is gone apparently. You used to be able to get Roebic at Lowes, but they have stopped carrying it.
Your best bet is small, individually owned hardware stores (be prepared to tell them why you need it, if asked) or ordering it online from a soap supplier. I recommend AAA Chemicals (http://www.aaa-chemicals.com/) very highly. If you are buying soaping oils from an online source that supplier may sell lye also - which will save you a shipping charge. If you want to do an online search I suggest searching on soap + lye.
Or find another soap maker and buy it off of her.
