Core I7 Extreme or XEON Quad?
I'm having a hard time picking between the two, can't seem to find any concrete bench marks to follow.
The configuration (money is not an issue):
Option one
==========
CORE I7, 8MB 3.2Ghz
Asus P6TD Deluxe
DDR3 RAM, dual channel
Option Two
=========
Supermicro X7DCA-L **Dual Socket**
2* XEON, 12MB Cache 2.33Ghz
DDR2 ECC RAM, Triple channel
The Xeon is bit slower than the core I7 but there are 8 cores and has a large cache.
But the I7 has a smaller cache and large clock. I don't know which one will preform better.
Xeon is not meant for personal or home use , this type of processor is designed for commercial servers such as web servers etc.
