Any plumbers here? Or anyone who knows plumbing? Can you help me?
When I connect a copper pipe to an L joint or T joint, I need to put an O ring on the pipe and push it all the way to the joint. Then we put the nut over the O ring and screw it tight on the joint.
My question is this. Can we use a hand crimping tool to clamp the O ring tighty to the pipe so that it does not slip and will be held tightly to the T or L joint? Is there a special hand crimping tool that we use to clamp the O ring tight to the pipe?
Can someone please help me? Thanks a lot.
I don't see why I can't ask this question more than once, especially if I am only a novice. Why is it some people are so agitated by this? Why are they so "concerned" with what others do?
I'm a plumbers helper. You are using a compression fitting. Do not crimp them it will mess it up. They make make a feel kinds such as shark bite. You just slide them on then ca use a little plastic tool to take it off. There are also pro press fitting. You slide them on then use a electric tool that cost a lot to crimp it on.
