What conclusion does this experiment come to?
WE got a homework to do an experiment and I did do it but I'm stuck on what the conclusion is. All I know is that it's something related to gravity.
Here's the experiment
You require-
Two Cans
Two Thin Nails
A knife
A candle 20 cm long
A ruler
A match-box
An old newspaper
Prepare the candle by carefully scraping away the wax at the flat end with a knife. It should look just like the other end with the wick protruding. Then measure the exact centre point of the candle and poke the nails, one into each side of the candle. Place the cans on the newspaper, a little apart. Balance the candle by placing the nail on the can's rim. Light the candle at both ends and observe. What do you see? Since the balancing pint moves opposite end, the candle tips. Since both ends are lit and dripping wax, with the continuous shift in the balancing point the candle begins to see saw,
I have no idea...... Just know that it's about gravity but actually how can we connect it with gravity?
due to changing mass its centre of mass keeps on changing on which gravity acts.
