They are the kind that has the course thread on bottom and fine on top of the screw. i have 2000 of the stainless steel ones. i know they are good quality. but will they work? this is for a deck/floor boards
so do i need to put in more screws? for the holding power?
i was more worried about the hold down power, being a smaller head and the fine threads on top of the screw
Stainless steel screws are the best to use in Pressure Treated wood. Since CCA pressure treating was changed to ACQ or CA (due to concerns re: arsenic), there have been concerns about corrosion of fasteners. Stainless steel are the best to use, followed by galvanized.
I would not think you need to put in any additional screws, unless this is an unusually high-traffic deck (say, in a restaurant)
