What causes compressor clutch to engage?
My 84 f150 compressor clutch is engaged at all times. Even when I turn the ac off. If I can figure out what sends the power to the clutch, I can back-track and disconnect/fix it. Can you tell me where the power wire starts from and the route it takes to the compressor clutch? Its on an 84 f150.
The problem is probably in your heater/ac controls. You can disconnect it at the compressor by just unplugging it. I would find a new control switch and change it, or you can install a toggle switch on the hot wire going to the compressor, and turn it on or off as needed.
