Caliber Strip Loads
Anybody familiar with Mowrey black powder rifles?
I have a .50 caliber Bicentennial Model 606 Hex-barreled rifle made by Mowrey Gun Works in Olney, TX (it doesn't exist anymore - I know the guy who owned it). Anyway, I bought it at a garage sale about 15 years ago, and it's been gathering dust in my safe. It needs some repairs to the trigger mechanism and the nipple threads are stripped out. I plan to get it fixed, but I was wondering where I can find parts. Also, once it's repaired, where can I find the recommendations for powder loads and such? This is my first foray into black powder.
I would contact the old owner, but he retired years ago, and doesn't have anything to do with it any more.
it seems to me if you know the guy who owned it that maybe you should ask him
