Bolt Adjustable Turning

Adjusting suspension on bike?
It says seventy millimeters adjustable front shocks, there is a wingnut on top if turn it anti clockwise, what does that do? and if turn it clockwise? Thought would be simple enought but the manual is foreign and useless.
There is a allen key bolt at the bottom, is this just to get access to it.

But what way makes it soft and what way to turn it makes it hard, as never use it for roads only dirt paths and woodland
Shocks (good shock) usually have 3 adjustments...
1. Adjust the amounts of travel (from 70 mm - in your case to locked). A locked suspension will allow you to ride hard packed dirt more efficiently but will "stiffen"t he ride.
2. Air adjustment cap screws off an you can adjust the shock to your weight. This needs to be done with a specific shock pump and do NOT over inflate
3. Rebound - you wills ee a rabbit or a turtle (or other symbols) to show fast or slow rebound - the amount of "bounce" in the fork. This is personal and territorial (the terrain you ride)..
I hope this helps. If yo want further information, post the bike (link) or the fork (if its the original fork for the bike, the just the bike will do). Best to do this in a second question.
