Bits Chisel Case
Slabbing - Hints & tips please?
What is the best way for me to cut a slab to size for my patio?
I have a Bolster Chisel & lump hammer, but daren't in case I smash the slab to bits!
Use an angle grinder with a diamond disc. they still make a heck of a lot of dust but boy are they QUICK! A 115mm will do the job and the discs cost about a tenner but a 9 inch one will be much quicker.
I have cut slabs with a chisel and hammer but it is slow and the break is not always clean.
The big trick to get nicely set slabs is to but a bed of 'hoggin' in first and flatten it down with a a plate vibrator (a 'Wacker').
