Ford Laser spark plug snapped off inside cylinder?
Hey im new to this answers thing so hopefully you ppl will be nice and make it easy lol.Anyways yer i have a ford laser(not sure of year and model but thats not really important) that sum1 i know gave to me as a paddock basher and in one of the cylinders the plug has been snapped off at the top so the thread and all that is stuck in the cylinder.And if that isnt bad enuff he got to it with a blowtorch and a bolt so he cud weld the bolt to the plug so he cud turn the rest out....but he made a mess....a very bad mess.Anywhom,Ive had the car fixed up and it runs..just on 3 cylinders and its kinda sluggish.So is there any idea how i cud get the plug out or if i cant will it do any damage? Currently i have a bolt in the bit of a hole just to plug it (and no it doesnt go in far enuff to hit the top of the piston),and stop crap spittin out the cylinder and making a hell of a noise.The car seems to run fine but will pluggin the cylinder do any damage??? Please help (and not laugh lol). Thnx
Don't run it on 3 cylinders much because it is not good for the engine. The plug can be removed with an "easy out". Buy one at a hardware store or Sears or an auto supply store and the directions will be included. All you need do is drill a small hole in the plug stub and then insert the easy out and remove the plug. I would soak the broken plug down with wd-40 first . soak it and let it sit for a day or so. This will help loosen the broken plug in case it is rusted or seized in the hole. Then do the EZ out routine.
